DMF Lighting Launches Enhanced A Series Illuminated Room Sign
DMF Lighting, an architectural lighting manufacturer of modular LED downlighting systems, has launched the next generation of its A Series illuminated room signage, built to streamline installation and maintenance.
The sign now integrates a dual-voltage driver and a hidden magnetic retention system within the faceplate, giving technicians direct access to the driver and LED board at the wall opening. The update reduces servicing time and simplifies maintenance.
Design and Compliance
The A Series faceplate supports vertical or horizontal orientation, with text positioning in any of the four upper or lower corners. Designers can select from custom color options across healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, and higher education environments, including hospitals, senior living facilities, apartment and condominium communities, hotels, classrooms, dormitories, and commercial buildings.
"We're taken feedback from the design community and enhanced our customizable illuminated signage with an integrated dual-voltage driver and robust magnetic retention system for simplified installation and serviceability," said Ken Czech, vice president of new product development, DMF Lighting. "As with all DMF products, the driver is integrated in the fixture rather than installed remotely, helping save time and labor during installation and service."
Specifications
The modular design integrates the dual-voltage driver with the light engine and mounting plate, enabling direct line-voltage wiring to the sign. The fixture installs into standard 4-inch octagon (4O) and 4-inch round (4R) junction boxes, or DMF's fire-rated F4NC junction box.
The wall-mounted rectangular sign has a half-inch profile and measures 4 inches by 7.3 inches. Text is illuminated through a clear, diffused lens in 2700K or 3000K color temperatures, with Helvetica or Proxima Nova font options. The standard faceplate color is black, with custom RAL colors available.
The 120/277-volt LED signage carries a 90+ color rendering index (CRI), with color variation held within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse for consistency across units.
The modular design ships the frame and electrical components separately from the faceplate, reducing on-site storage needs and enabling phased installation.
The A Series meets ADA compliance with Braille, California's Title-24, and ENERGY STAR standards, and is rated for damp locations.
