Storytelling Across Digital and Physical Channels Committee Report

How Luxury Hospitality Leaders Are Rewriting the Story: From Digital Discovery to the Human Moment

In May 2026, the International Luxury Hotel Association brought together senior leaders from operations, marketing, guest experience, and luxury consulting for the Storytelling Across Digital and Physical Channels Advisory Committee, sponsored by Visiting Media. The roundtable tackled one of the most consequential tensions in modern hospitality: how to harness the power of digital storytelling and emerging technology without eroding the emotional intimacy that defines a luxury stay.

"Hospitality has always been shaped by stories," observed Vivien Ivanyi, Luxury Hospitality Brand, Marketing & Commercial Strategy Advisor, tracing the arc from travel journals to AI-powered itinerary builders. "Now AI is personalizing it, turning 'tell me where people went' into 'tell me where I should go.' That's a major evolution." Amy Finsilver, General Manager at XV Beacon Hotel, grounded that shift in operational terms: luxury, she argued, is no longer about amenities on a page, it is about crafting the full arc of the experience before the guest ever arrives. Meanwhile, Maryia Isachenka of Atlantis Dubai brought the scale challenge into focus, describing how personalization across 2,300 rooms demands integrated data systems that most properties have not yet built.

The committee made clear that the next era of luxury will be defined not by which technology a property adopts, but by how intelligently it deploys it, invisible infrastructure powering visible warmth, AI handling the complexity so that human judgment can handle the moment.
