Marriott International Named a Top 10 Fortune and Great Place To Work 100 Best Workplaces in the U.S., Reflecting Nearly 100 Years of Putting People First

Marriott International has been named the Number 7 Best Workplace in the United States on the 2026 Fortune and Great Place To Work 100 Best Workplaces list, a recognition that reflects the company's enduring commitment to its associates and its people-first culture. Marriott has been on the list since its inception nearly three decades ago.

This year's ranking follows the company's global recognition as a standout employer by Fortune and Great Place to Work in over a dozen countries around the world and being named one of the top five World's Best Workplaces by Great Place To Work and Fortune.

"For nearly a century, Marriott has been guided by our founding core values, creating a culture rooted in trust, opportunity, and respect for every associate," said Anthony Capuano, President and Chief Executive Officer, Marriott International. "This recognition is meaningful because it reflects associates' voices and experiences and affirms our people-first culture that is brought to life every day by our associates. I am deeply grateful to associates around the world for supporting one another, fostering belonging, living our values, strengthening communities, and making Marriott a great place to work."

In 2023, Marriott launched its people brand, Be, built around three pillars: Begin, Belong, and Become. These pillars reflect Marriott's commitment to growing great leaders, investing in associates, and creating access to opportunity through global initiatives that attract, develop, and retain talent.

Begin

Marriott is continuing its legacy of building strong pathways for associates beginning their career journey. Marriott was one of the first hospitality companies to build and launch a digital learning platform that provides associates access to a range of foundational learning programs, coaching, and skill-building curriculum.

Belong

Marriott was also one of the first hospitality companies to introduce a global wellbeing program over a decade ago, focused on supporting the physical, mental, and financial health of associates worldwide. The company is integrating wellbeing into the everyday associate experience through year-round initiatives, targeted mental health and financial education resources, and a global network of more than 13,000 TakeCare Champions, who support their peers, connect them to resources, and help make wellbeing part of daily work.

Marriott continues to invest in associates with competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and its signature Explore by Marriott Bonvoy travel discount program, which encourages associates to visit its properties and see the world. Marriott also fosters a culture of belonging through its Associate Resource Groups where all associates are welcome to strengthen their networks, grow their skills, celebrate their backgrounds, and give back to the communities where they live and work.

Become

At Marriott, helping associates reach their full potential through year-round coaching, continuous feedback, and clear expectations that support development and career progression is a top priority. This commitment to long-term growth comes to life through programs like Elevate, which prepare frontline associates for their first management roles by building confidence, capability, and a coaching mindset - accelerating internal mobility and strengthening leadership pipelines. Participants in the Elevate program have a 25% higher retention rate and are 5.5 times more likely to be promoted than their peers.

"At Marriott, people don't come for a job, they come for a career. They come to grow, to be part of something bigger, and to build a future for themselves and their families," said Ty Breland, Chief Human Resources Officer and EVP, Global Operations Services, Marriott International. "Our role is to create the environment where that's possible. Everything we do through Be is grounded in our core values and focused on helping associates develop, move, and succeed across the business. When associates feel supported and see a path forward, they stay and they thrive."

The 100 Best Companies to Work For list honors companies that build a high-trust workplace environment, measured through Great Place To Work's proprietary survey platform. Placement on this list requires consistently high survey responses across the 60 statements that comprise the Trust Index Survey.

"Trust in the organization is a leading indicator of business performance," says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. "When employees trust their leaders, they are more willing to give extra effort, embrace innovation like new AI tools, and deliver a better experience to customers."

With nearly 800,000 associates worldwide who wear the Marriott name badge, the company is focused on creating opportunity, strengthening a culture of belonging, and helping people build meaningful careers.
