WorldHotels Brings 4,000 Hotels Under One Global Masterbrand
BWH Hotels has unveiled the most significant strategic evolution in its history. On October 27, 2026, the Phoenix-based company announced that WorldHotels will serve as its global masterbrand. The new identity unites more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands and over 100 countries under one corporate identity, one loyalty program, and a redesigned digital experience.
The portfolio has grown well beyond its Best Western roots into luxury, boutique, upscale, extended-stay, and value segments. Every property keeps its own name, signage, and flag. The change is in how travelers find these hotels, and in the commercial scale that now stands behind each owner.
“We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion, but many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio,” said Larry Cuculic, President and Chief Executive Officer of WorldHotels.
What does WorldHotels Collection offer independent luxury hotels?
WorldHotels Collection now brings the portfolio’s upscale and luxury properties together across six categories, including WorldHotels Luxury and WorldHotels Elite. Two of them sit in some of the fastest-growing segments in the industry. WorldHotels Residences pairs private homeownership with luxury hospitality services and brand affiliation. WorldHotels Backdrop focuses on destinations where immersive natural settings and elevated accommodations converge.
For owners, developers, and independent operators, the Collection offers access to global distribution, technology, and brand recognition. Each property keeps the character its guests travel for.
“The future of luxury hospitality isn’t about standardization. It’s about helping exceptional independent properties compete and grow on a global stage, while remaining true to their identity,” said Ron Pohl, President, WorldHotels Collection. “WorldHotels Collection sits at the intersection of independence and scale, giving owners access to the commercial power, technology and demand drivers of a major hospitality network while maintaining the tailored, local experiences today’s travelers are seeking.”
How will WorldHotels Rewards work?
WorldHotels Rewards launches January 5, 2027. It consolidates Best Western Rewards and the existing WorldHotels Rewards into a single program for approximately 70 million members.
The program introduces three streamlined membership tiers. Current benefits stay in place, including status matching, member rates, and points that never expire. Members keep their existing points value and gain more ways to earn across the full portfolio.
Joelle Park, Chief Marketing Officer, said the program was shaped by extensive consumer research and member feedback, with simplicity and transparency at its core. Full program details will be announced on November 16, 2026.
How does local knowledge reach the guest?
WorldHotels has built its digital experience around the people who know each destination best. A new website, a redesigned mobile app, and a proprietary discovery tool draw on more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered from hotel teams worldwide. Together they surface neighborhoods and local experiences alongside booking and loyalty management.
For independent owners, the result is greater visibility across the portfolio and more direct-booking opportunities. For travelers, it combines the confidence of a global network with recommendations from the teams on the ground.
Hospitality companies increasingly compete on brand recognition, guest relationships, and technology. With this approach, WorldHotels gives independent hoteliers the commercial advantages of global scale while each property keeps the identity that sets it apart.
