Blake Danner
T. Blake Danner is a seasoned hospitality executive with more than 25 years of experience spanning hotel operations, sales, brand development, and executive leadership. Known for his passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and building strong hospitality cultures, Blake has played a leadership role in some of the industry’s most innovative and influential hotel companies.
Blake currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences, a position he has held since 2023. In this role, he oversees operations, guest experience, and the continued growth of AKA’s portfolio of luxury extended-stay and hotel residences.
Prior to joining AKA, Blake served as Chief Operating Officer of Proper Hospitality. He was also the founding Chief Operating Officer of Sydell Group, where he helped build the company into one of hospitality’s most recognized lifestyle hotel groups. During his eight years with Sydell, the company launched notable properties and brands including NoMad, The Ned, The LINE, Freehand, and Saguaro, growing to 12 hotels during his tenure.
Earlier in his career, Blake served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Ian Schrager Hotels/Morgans Hotel Group, for 13 years, working with some of the industry's most iconic properties, including Royalton, Delano, Hudson, Sanderson, Mondrian South Beach, The Clift, and Shore Club. His achievements in sales and marketing earned him recognition by HSMAI as one of the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Sales and Marketing Minds.”
Beyond his executive roles, Blake is passionate about sharing ideas and conversations that move hospitality forward. He is the host of The Hotel Daddy Podcast, where he speaks with influential hospitality leaders about leadership, culture, operations, career development, and the people behind the hotel business.
Throughout his career, Blake has remained focused on a simple idea: great hospitality is ultimately about people, creating environments where both guests and employees feel valued, connected, and inspired.
